Today I’m going to share with you my top 5 most anticipates releases of 2016, again, I know I’m late to this party but late is better than never. Mentioned in no particular order!

  1. The Last Star By Rick Yancey

Recently the film for The 5th Wave, the first book of this soon to be trilogy, came out (next post I may do a review on it as I saw it the day it came out in the UK). This release of the book to movie adaptation made readers away of the book’s existence. I got the book from a friend last Christmas and I believe I read it in February and got The infinite Sea, the second book, for my birthday in march and read that in April. However this means it would have been a year by the time it is released on May 24th 2016 since I read the stories so a) i’ve been waiting for this release for ages and am super excited yet b) it also means a reread is in order…

the last starSynopsis: Goodreads

We’re here, then we’re gone, and that was true before they came. That’s always been true. The Others didn’t invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won’t end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning, on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

Who else is excited? What team are you? – EVAN!!!

2. Half Lost By Sally Green

I have read both Half Bad and Half Wild, again about a year ago by the time Half Lost is released on March 29th 2016. I have my copies of the current duo-logy signed and have met Sally with my school book club! The release date is near my birthday (21st march) so hope I receive it from someone, as Half wild was meant to be birthday but ended up being released before! If not I’m getting it with any vouchers I get!) Its fair to say I’m hyped for this release!

Synopsis: Goodreads

Nathan Byrn is running again. The Alliance of Free Witches has been all but destroyed. Scattered and demoralized, constantly pursued by the Council’s Hhalf lostunters, only a bold new strategy can save the rebels from total defeat. They need the missing half of Gabriel’s amulet – an ancient artifact with the power to render its bearer invincible in battle.

But the amulet’s guardian – the reclusive and awesomely powerful witch Ledger – has her own agenda. To win her trust, Nathan must travel to America and persuade her to give him the amulet. Combined with his own Gifts, the amulet might just be enough turn the tide for the Alliance and end the bloody civil war between Black and White witches once and for all…

Anticipated yet? When’s your birthday?

3. The Crown By Kiera Cass

Okay… so you guys all get that I freaking loved the selection series when I read it in basically a week a few months ago… and so that automatically means I reallyyyyy want to read this book. Except isn’t 5 books a lot for this series. I enjoy the aspect of the last two being 20 years later and the idea of a selection for a suitor instead. yet I don’t like the idea of the cover being similar to The Hier (4th book) .The first 3 were in the POV I preferred. America’s. Don’t get me wrong I do like Eadlyn but not as much. I will definitely buy it and read it when it gets released on May 3rd 2016 though. and I still need to read the novella book: Happily Ever after.

the crownSynopsis: Goodreads

Twenty years have passed since the events of The One, and America and Maxon’s daughter is the first princess to hold a Selection of her own. Princess Eadlyn didn’t think she would find a real partner among the Selection’s thirty-five suitors, let alone true love. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and now Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more difficult—and more important—than she ever expected.

What was your fav of the current 4? – The One

4. The Siren By Kiera Cass

I don’t know much about this book apart from the fact that Kiera wrote it and it has no link to the selection series. The reason why I look forward do reading this book (that has already been released) is because I thoroughly enjoyed Kiera’s writing, despite what it looks like from what I said above, but yeah I’m excited yet in no rush to go get it, yet!

the sirenSynopsis: Goodreads

“You must never do anything that might expose our secret. This means that, in general, you cannot form close bonds with humans. You can speak to us, and you can always commune with the Ocean, but you are deadly to humans. You are, essentially, a weapon. A very beautiful weapon. I won’t lie to you, it can be a lonely existence, but once you are done, you get to live. All you have to give, for now, is obedience and time…”

The same speech has been given hundreds of times to hundreds of beautiful girls who enter the sisterhood of sirens. Kahlen has lived by these rules for years now, patiently waiting for the life she can call her own. But when Akinli, a human, enters her world, she can’t bring herself to live by the rules anymore. Suddenly the life she’s been waiting for doesn’t seem nearly as important as the one she’s living now.

What do you think of this?

5. Lady Midnight By Cassandra Clare

Again, I’m not certain but I think that this book is a side/future story that links with the shadow hunter world from Cassandra’s mortal instrument series that I’m loving atm. This book is also due to be released around my birthday (release date: March 8th 2016) and I think once I’ve read The Infernal Devices and the last 3 Mortal instruments, I really want to read this!

lady midnightSynopsis: Goodreads

Los Angeles. It’s been five years since the events of the Mortal Instruments when Nephilim stood poised on the brink of oblivion and Shadowhunter Emma Carstairs lost her parents. After the blood and violence she witnessed as a child, Emma has dedicated her life to to discovering exactly what it was that killed her parents and getting her revenge.

Raised in the Los Angeles Institute with the Blackthorn family, Emma is paired as a parabatai with her best friend, Julian Blackthorn. A series of murders in the city catch her attention — they seem to have the same characteristics as the deaths of her parents. Could the murderer be the same person? And her attention isn’t the only one caught: someone has been murdering Downworlders as well. The Fair Folk make a deal with the Institute: if the Blackthorns and Emma will investigate the killings, they’ll return Mark Blackthorn to his home. The catch: they have only two weeks to find the killers. Otherwise it’s open war between faeries and Nephilim.

The Shadowhunters of the Institute must race against time to catch the killers, even as they begin to suspect the involvement of those closest to them. At the same time, Emma is falling in love with the one person in the world she’s absolutely forbidden by Shadowhunter Law to love. Set against the glittering backdrop of present-day Los Angeles, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches from the warlock-run nightclubs of the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica.

Sorry this is so long! Please take a time to comment a response to some of my questions I have asked in this post, appreciate it!
